Ernest Lawson (22 de marzo de 1873 - 18 de diciembre de 1939) fue un pintor canadiense-estadounidense miembro de "los ocho" que lideraba Robert Henri. Aunque la pintura de Lawson es mayoritariamente paisajistica también pintó algunas escenas de realismo urbano que se exhibieron en la exposición independiente que realizaron en 1908 el grupo de "los ocho". Su estilo esta muy influenciado por el impresionismo y, aunque considerado impresionista, su obra se halla entre el impresionismo y el realismo.
